Karen Gillis Taylor

Karen is a painter of contemporary landscapes, imagined cityscapes and other subjects inspired by her life and travels. She loves to celebrate the beauty of color and the wonder of nature with her art. Karen began her art career as an illustrator for children, with a goal of becoming a full time painter. Her fine art paintings and prints can be seen online and at Osmosis Gallery in Niwot, Colorado. Collectors around the world treasure Karen’s art. She also writes the Hue Bliss blog about design and color for painters, quilt makers, and art students. Karen designs quilts and was a graphic designer for McCall’s Quilting magazine and Leman Publications. As a teacher, her focus is on color for quilters as well as general drawing and painting classes. She has a BFA (painting and graphic design) from Colorado State University, a BA in history, and a teaching certificate in Art K-12 from the University of Colorado. Karen recently moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico and has deep roots in Colorado.
