> Ellen Crimi-Trent
Ellen Crimi-Trent has been creating art for as long as she can remember. Perhaps it comes as no surprise since her father is a fine artist. Ellen went on to study fashion design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY but quickly changed her major to illustration. Following graduation, Ellen worked for various children’s wear companies before branching out on her own to freelance her work.
Ellen quickly began licensing her designs on all kinds of products and works with many well-known companies such as C.R. Gibson, The Gift Wrap Company, Design Design, Elrene, American Greetings, Boston Warehouse, and Creative Expressions to name a few. Ellen has also worked directly with stores such as J. C. Penny and Fred Meyer for which she created successful lines of goods ranging from ceramics to ornaments to bedding and more.
These days you will find Ellen in her Massachusetts studio working on all kinds of new and exciting designs. She draws her inspiration from various places such as magazines, books, movies, fashion, nature and her family. “There is never a shortage of inspiration with two young boys in the house.” Her designs reflect the many aspects of her personality, from whimsical to serious as well as decorative. “I am always trying new things because I am excited about all the possibilities that can be brought to my work.”
