PinExt Treat a Friend Fat Quarter Giveaway!

ET8 treat a friend giveaway clothworks Treat a Friend Fat Quarter Giveaway!
Seriously, doing GIVEAWAYS is the best part of my job. I love it! When I look at a stack of Fat Quarters I just think: POTENTIAL. It’s the same when I have a fresh piece of fabric in my needlework hoop, or a pattern all cut out and ready to sew. Setting up the Clothworks giveaways and knowing that somebody–or in this case, TWO somebodies–are going to win a kitty that is big enough to do a whole quilt top gets me pretty excited. So, here goes another giveaway.

This one is a little different. As the holidays approach, I can’t help but think about gift giving. Here’s how it works. First, I really want to thank Scott Hansen at Blue Nickel Studios for rounding up all the inspiring blogger/sewers that he did for the Bloggers’ Bar Hop Quiltalong. So please start by heading over to his blog and checking out all the blogs that have already posted cool European Taupe 8 infused blocks. They are wonderful. Those new blocks will keep flowing until October 15th, so there’s plenty of time to keep looking AND post your own block(s) on his Flickr page.

Here’s how to enter:

1. Check out Blue Nickel Studios’ quiltalong participants for some fresh ideas on what to make–then think about what you might make with European Taupe 8 Fat Quarters.
2. Go to Facebook and “like” Clothworks if you haven’t already, and share the post from your page so ALL your friends can take advantage of the European Taupe 8 “Treat a Friend” Giveaway. You can even “like” and “share” this post from this page–so you don’t even have to leave! Maybe you even make a deal with a friend that if one of you wins, the other will get the “friend” stack…Just a thought.
3. Head back here and make a comment on our blog about what you might want to make with these fabrics and blammo! You’re done!
4. Contest ends Thursday night, October 11th at Midnight, Pacific Time. I won’t be in on Friday, but our lovely Stephanie will be announcing the winner and letting you all know where those fat quarters are headed.
5. Thanks for being wonderful readers and playing along. And, just as a sneak peak, we’ll be doing a hot flurry of giveaways right around the holidays just in case any of you have a special someone who likes to sew.
6. If you win, we’ll contact you via email for your mailing address and you can tell us who the friend you want to treat is and give us their address, too.

Just got into my stay yesterday cause the quilting bug hit me with the cooler weather coming. Just learned of a friend who is getting into quilting and I would enjoy seeing her face when I let her know about the wonderful Fat Quarters coming her way!

Barbara October 8, 2012 at 4:51 am

I love these fabrics!! I am so super excited I did not even have to think about what I would do with them. For a long while now I have been wanting to make a quilt and bunting to match to use on my outdoor patio (verandah) for those cooler seasons and WOW!! here it is!! I am so excited!! We so enjoy sitting outdoors taking in the cooler evenings and the last of the days sun, and often when there is a chill in the air we pull out the blankets and wraps to try and avoid having to go indoors until it is really necessary. And the bunting to match the quilt? well…….I just love bunting on my verandah! The actual design, probably something with a leaf design, using blocks and bars or if I feel adventurous enough perhaps even some applique. Thank you for the opportunity of allowing us to share!

Debbie October 8, 2012 at 5:05 am

Barb Colvin October 8, 2012 at 11:17 am

The European Taupe lines are always so beautiful! I’ve been saving the Country Cottages BOM from Shabby Fabrics, and ET VIII would be the perfect fabric for those cute little vignettes.

Ida Houston October 8, 2012 at 11:30 am

Well… tough choices on what to make! But, I think I’d have to make my favorite quilt from one of my favorite blocks – the log cabin! The fabric looks really cozy and I think a log cabin quilt would be perfect for it.

CathyC in Alberta October 8, 2012 at 12:26 pm

I have been collecting BOM for cottages..these might work, otherwise will have to go through my stash of quilt books and mags and find something wonderful to make. They are packed away at the moment as we are moving in 16 days. I am having severe quilting withdrawals!

Margaret P in Brooksville Fl October 8, 2012 at 12:45 pm

I love the colors and I know my sister Madi would love them also. What to do with them, well to start I would make a jacket for my Mother n law for Christmas then use the rest for a quilt.

Ellen Valeriano October 8, 2012 at 12:49 pm

This fabric would be perfect for me to incorporate in a fall embroidered design that I can make into either a wall hanging for my office or a quilt for me. I’m not one to make for me that I love this material that it looks like a “Me” project.

Ali M October 8, 2012 at 1:12 pm

Oooh I like how part of the goal is to break down the barriers between modern and traditional quilting – I enjoy seeing modern takes on traditional, and now I’ve seen some traditional takes on modern with some of the blocks!
Truth is I have no idea what I’d make with the pretty fabrics if I won – something for my mother in law most likely, since I think she’d love the prints!

Jean Balek-Miner October 8, 2012 at 1:42 pm

Hi ladies! This fat quarter is extra scrumptious! Since my daughter and I are both quilters, it would be super fun for us to win!! I picture a fun array of floating pinwheels!

Kathy C October 8, 2012 at 3:49 pm

I’m not sure yet what I would make with those lovely fat quarters – I really liked the first on the hop with the frame, and also the floating bars. Maybe something like one of those for my grandson or husband. The extra set would go to either my sister who designs all kinds of purses, doll clothes, etc. from scraps, my sister-in-law who has a new great-great grandchild, or my neighbor who is a fantastic quilter.
Thanks for the opportunity!

Thanks for the lovely giveaway. I’ve visited the bar hop blogs daily to collect the block instructions and save them into a folder. I made the Uberfest blocks last year. So, if I am so fortunate as to win, would make that quilt using this bundle as well as adding fabrics the way the designers have done. We already have liked Clothworks on facebook as Margaret Wright (a.k.a. my mother who will be my quilting friend if I win), though today your page isn’t loading correctly for some reason.
I do love these neutral colors. Thanks for the chance.

MargaretQuilts October 9, 2012 at 1:26 pm

You said that friends could enter too. So, this is the mother entry of the M&M duo. I would make a quilt with this bundle if I WIN. Once I see the fabrics, would select the pattern and recipient (perhaps my son as he likes these colors). We already like you on FB as Margaret.

Carolyn Howland October 9, 2012 at 1:36 pm
