I have some show and tell for you from the lovely Susan Wahl in our awesome customer service department. We are so lucky to have so many talented employees! Susan made these hot pads and towels for gifts using some of our older collections she’s stashed throughout the years. It’s fun to see them come to life again in these projects–what fun!

Want to see how to make those cute hotpads? I showed a similar project on how to make fabric coasters awhile back, but with a little creativity you can figure out how to make Susan’s hotpads using the same method. The main difference is that you fold the squares into triangles (watch the video and see what I mean) and then fold them over and topstitch.
If you like the towel project, be sure to check out another one of our sewing goddesses, Kathleen, showing you how to make the perfect embellished towel!
Happy Sewing to all!

Great videos and such cute, simple projects to make. I would love to have a tutorial for that awesome looking Pot holder at the top. I really love the curves in the fabrics on those.
I would love to see the tutorial of these cute hot pads too. I love the cathedral windows type treatment.
Southwind Designs does all of her patterns like that. Straight line piecing with curved results! They work wonderfully and look very complicated but are great for beginners!
