We’re launching The Works monthly newsletter for all you sewers, quilters! (All these exclamation points just mean that I am pretty excited to start communicating with all of you a bit more directly.) I love hearing from you and this is a way for us to quickly get ideas, news and giveaway announcements to you when they are really fresh. And, to celebrate the launch, we’ve got a pretty saucy giveaway for all of you! But first, here is a little graphic that tells you a little more information about what The Works Newsletter is!
Now, let’s get down to giveaway business. If you’re not feeling the chilly nip of fall days, you must be in the Southern hemisphere because though we are having sunny days in Seattle, I’m getting chilly fingers on my early morning bike rides to Clothworks. I tasted my first fall crop apple today and I am most certainly noticing the green shades of summer slowly bending to yellow which will rapidly be red and then brown until the clear winter sky is all that will remain. Thinking of those fall leaves certainly inspired the Forest Floor collection and, in turn, this gorgeous quilt! We chose this month’s giveaway with fall in mind: a kit of fabric to make the quilt below which will include the free pattern AND a little kitty of coordinating Aurifil thread! Not bad, eh? I guess you could see it as a consolation prize if you’re sad to see summer go–or inspiration to get busy sewing as cooler temperatures force you indoors. And, the pattern is Free to all, so by all means, head to our website and download it.

Getting ready for winter. Here in Alberta fall is very short, we usually go from summer straight to winter. This beautiful fall quilt will keep those beautiful fall colors around long after the leaves have fallen!

Isn’t it funny when you realize your favorite season is the one you have the least amount of decorations for? For instance, I do love Christmas, but autumn is when I was born and I relish in not having any more bugs around after that first frost. Homemade doughnuts and cider are the best and traveling north to play in the corn mazes is such fun. Yet, I have virtually nothing to celebrate this in my home, whereas, Christmas contains too many do-dads around here. Hmm…..I think this would help in my fall decorating goals!

Thank you for a chance to win and a free pattern–I would dearly love to make this quilt! Autumn is much better temps here in Utah. One of the things my husband and I love to do is drive the Alpine Loop or the Nebo Loop during the autumn, with great high altitude views and forests of aspen, maple, oak and others, like a giant multicolored quilt!
My parents live near Seattle, so I haven’t seen much of that area during the fall…mostly Christmastime and spring/summer, but I bet the leaves are great!

what a wonderful fabric collection and a beautiful finished quilt. I am about 2/3 finished working on a fall quilt for my Mother’s new living room chair, but Wouldn’t it be nice to have a kit for my self. Thanks for coming back to my email. I look forward to the patterns and inspiration as when winter comes to TX there isn’t much else to do but sew away those short days. I was lucky enough to go on a 30 day, YES, 30 day car trip to see the leaves turn last Fall. It was a bucket list item that I THOUGHT would never be realized but I am so glad I managed to check that one off. The days driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway in October and up through NY, Vermont, NH and into Canada were absolutely BREATH-TAKING! I bought batiks along the way to make a memory quilt of the adventure—-this would be an absolutely wonderful pattern for that project!

I have adored Laurel Burch fabrics, earrings, etc. since I was in my 20′s and living in San Franciso. Now, I’m much older, a quilter, and still adore her fabrics! The quilt shop where I work has order her feline collection. I’m so excited, and can’t wait for it to arrive!

Love the look of this quilt. The modern quilt feel is so much more open than many of the traditional cover every square inch with pattern quilts. Very impressive. Newsletters are laid out really well. Happy for your re-launch.

Fall is my absolute FAVorite season because: my birthday is in September, fall colors look best on me, the smell of the leaves as I walk through them, the rainbow colors of the leaves here in Pennsylvania, and finally apple cider! Thanks for offering this giveaway!

Wow, I am loving what I am seeing. This is a very dynamic and exciting website. I love your description of your first crop of apples. I live in an orchard community in the south east corner of B.C. and we are experiencing the same thing. Fall is on its way and will be gorgeous.
